The Air Force Academy greeted all aviation-lovers on an open day on 1st March. It was a unique occasion for over 1000 high and middle school graduates to get to know the School of Eaglets inside out.

It comes back to us again and again, both through the scale of this tragedy and with your pain and memory of colleagues, those who worked with them, flew together, together with them created the greatness of the Polish Air Force, Polish wings," said the Minister of National Defence when addressing the families of the pilots who died in the plane crash of the military transport aircraft CASA C-295M on January 23, 2008, when approaching the military airport of the 12th Air Base in Mirosławiec.

By tradition ceremonies connected with the Cadet’s Day were held at the Air Force Academy. This year activities for 1st year students called Freshers, a ceremonial curfew and aviation merry-making took place in a beautiful winter scenery. Cadets took symbolically the university authorities.

On 29th November 2016 in the Cadet’s Day the President of Poland Andrzej Duda granted generals nominations in the President’s Palace. That Day Chancellor-Commandant of the Air Force Academy Col.Pil.Dr Piotr Krawczyk was given nomination to Brigadier. The Prime Minister Beata Szydło and the Minister of National Defense Antoni Maciarewicz took part in the ceremony. 

71 graduates of the Air Force Academy, 5 graduates of the Military Academy of Technology and 1 graduate of the Academy of Army were promoted to 1st officer’s level in Dęblin. 120th military graduate’s promotion took place on 18th November 2016 in front of the monument ‘To heroic aviators of the Eaglets School In Dęblin’.
